Lucky Number 7 - I got tagged!!!

I need to share 7 random and/or weird facts about myself.
And then tag 7 people.
(Thanks Jayni... I WILL get you back!!! Haha)

1.  I have never had my hair permed (random fact).

2.  My first pop concert I attended was Simon and Garfunkel, at the age of 16.

3.  I am a night owl - though many of my friends will already know this about me!

4.  I set my alarm clock to times with a 3, 6 or 9 in them!!  Don't ask... !!  I know ... this definitely comes under the definition of weird!!!

5. I love Will Young and Josh Groban and would love to go to one of their concerts... one day I'm sure I will achieve that dream!!!  

6.  I was born in a room that had a 'Stella' light bulb in the light fitting... though this was not realised until after I was named. 

7.  I was nicknamed 'Mr Magoo' as a small baby - can't quite remember why this particularly cruel name was attributed to me... something about my bald head I think.....!

Christmas Traditions

I guess everyone has their Christmas traditions... the things they have to do around Christmas, without which Christmas just would not be the same.  Some of these traditions centre around food, some around the presents, some around the sweets (or candy for my American friends), some around the music, some around the telling of the Christmas Story.  

Some people have more than one tradition.  I have heard many stories over the years, ranging from the smell of the Christmas Ham cooking on Christmas Eve, to the opening of the tin of Quality Street on Christmas Eve, which has been sitting under the tree since the beginning of December (... those poor children!!! haha), to attending a Midnight church service to hear readings and sing carols.  

I have always loved my Christmas Tree, and the putting up and lighting of my tree has always been a special part of my Christmas preparations.  I am looking forward to that part this year, but now that I have my own little ones, I have spent a lot of time thinking this year about what I would like my special family traditions to be.  What do I want my Children to remember, and treasure, about their childhood Christmases.

Christmas is Coming.... all too fast!!!

Wow... 4 weeks away!!  

In honour of this fact, I have changed my background, and changed the playlist music to put some of my Christmas favourites first.  There are a few gems in there... Enjoy!  I know some people may consider this a little early, but believe you me.... I have been restrained (for me anyway) to wait this long!!! 

Tonight I watched the first of my Christmas movies, and probably my favourite of all times... The Polar Express.  I have to watch it several times at this time of year.  It epitomises beautifully the some importnt messages, and there are many analogies and metaphores for you to 'spot' and 'get'.  If you haven't seen it... I thoroughly recommend it.  

A few songs from that film are on the list, together with some from the Muppet Christmas Carol - another must have film for me to watch on the lead up to Christmas.

First Shoes and New Coats!

The babies now have their first proper shoes, and recently got new coats. This was them on the first day out in their new 'togs'.

Ear Muffs?!?!

David recently had an operation on his ear/neck.... and this is him the day after when the babies and I went to the hospital to see him!  He met us in the car park when we arrived looking like this!! The 'ear muffs' were little wooly huts that had been on top of the Innocent Smoothies I'd brought him the night before!!!  

He spent the morning telling the nurses that the Doctor had told him he needed to keep the hats on the ears!  (Think the anaesthetic [or something!] was definately still in his system!!).  Strange boy!!

Ollie Loves His Toy Box....

.... so much that he loves to take everything out... and climb in there himself!!!  

I recently started using a crate to put the twins toys in at the end of the day ... (why I never did this before, I have no idea!!). It's great...
(Notice him playing with the lid to a plastic pot... isn't it amazing how they prefer things like that to all the copious toys they have!) 

This was him the other day ... when something he liked (probably a song ... he loves music) came on television!  He sat up and peered over the poofee at the tv!!

Regency Hair

Tried on this wig when staying at our friends the other day.... I think it makes me look like a regency male....! Scary!!!

Happy Birthday to 'The Wind Beneath My Wings'

I picked this song as one of the songs to be sung by our friend Jonathan at our wedding. (I still regret to this day, that I didn't hear it, cos this is when we were signing the Register! - didn't plan that very well did we)... because that is how I felt about David then, and it is still how I feel about him now.  (Those of you who know us will laugh at the words... I'm kind of a larger than life person, and David is kind of quiet and laid back.. which is why these words fit so well!!  It's not me being big-headed!!)

David, my husband, is the wind beneath my wings!!  He is the person who lifts me up, and uplifts me. He is my hero. I truly do not know what I would do without him.  

Today is his birthday and I just wanted to say to him, 'Thank you darling' - for all you say, for all you do, for all you are.  I love you.
